Artist:  Chet Atkins

Title: Guitar Country

Date:  1964

Label:  RCA Victor Records   LSP-2783

Notes:  Recorded in RCA's "Nashville Sound" studio this record catches Chet in various moods playing his guitar with all the heart and style we've come to expect. As usual the vocals are a bit tough on the ears at times, but it's that guitar that makes it all worthwhile. A very nice take on the Hank Garland piece "Sugarfoot Rag" stands out among the other songs collected here as a fast and dexterous display of why there are so many Chet albums out there. The man has so much to show us if we choose to watch and listen. A very "country" setting for the front cover and its acoustic guitar. The back cover has Chet and his signature Gretsch in hand. Just another in a long line of Atkins material worth a listen or two.
