Artist:  Chet Atkins

Title:  My Favorite Guitars

Date:  1964

Label RCA Victor LSP-3316

Notes:  Chet, a compulsive picker, has guitars all over his house, office and places in between. This record was made using his three favorites at the time. An electric Gretsch Country Gentleman, stock, a acoustic from South America that he call his "Los Indios Tabajaras" guitar and a classical guitar from Barcelona, Spain. The material is chosen to suit the particular characteristics of the guitar in hand at the time. We get a range of sounds from classical to swing to a touch of the east. As always Chet is smooth as silk and this recordmakes a nice addition to the collection. Maybe not the flashiest of his output, but certainly woth a listen or two. Nice cover shot of the three guitars used as well as another piece of his collection in the background.
