Artist:  Chet Atkins

Title: The Most Popular Guitar

Date:  1961

Label:  RCA Victor Records   LSP-2346

Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee

Recording Engineer:  Bill Porter

Notes:  In this, Chet's thirteenth album, we find more of that fretwork that flows from any guitar that Chet touches. Whether it's a classic reworked, a pop melody or just a light tune before bedtime he has fun with it. According to the liner notes people have voted Chet the Most Popular Guitar through the jukeboxes and record stores across the country. And who are we to argue with that? This German copy I found has a thin, paper-like cover. The cover photo of a young lady in a peek-a-boo nightie holding a Gretsch must have made this a very popular record when it first appeared on the shelves.

Line Up:

Chet Atkins:  guitar, vocals
