Artist:  Chet Atkins

Title: A Session With Chet Atkins

Date:  1955

Label:  RCA Records   LPM 1090

Notes:  An early session with Chet shows his choice of material crossing from the country roots of his beginnings to a more modern pop sound. It includes a great version of Caravan as well as a fun take on Corrine, Corrina. Copious liner notes from Nelson King (he of Country music fame via WCKY in Cincinnati) bring us a little closer to the session. A nice cover photo of a young Chet looking serious and ready to let those fingers dance upon the frets for all to hear. A really nice find for the collector. And as the back cover warns, Beware the Blunted Needle!

Line Up:

Bud Isaacs: steel guitar
Dale Potter: fiddle
Ray Eddington: rhythm guitar
John Gordy: piano and celeste
Bob Moore: bass
Buddy Harman: drums
