| Artist: Chet Atkins Title: Chet Atkins Workshop Date: 1961 Label: RCA Records LPM-2232
Notes: The cover photo is priceless. The workshop is just chock full of antique recording gear and that big red Gretsch looks just perfect. According to the cover notes there is... "approximately $8,000 worth of electronic and electrical equipment, much of it built by Atkins himself: a small maze of mixing panels, a three-channel stereo tape recorder, a one-channel recorder, a jack panel, a voltmeter, an audio generator, a distortion meter." Sounds like stone tools and bear skins to me. The music is another fine effort from Mr. Atkins. As always the guitar shines even if some of the backgrounds attempt to take over.
