Notes: A
fantastic set turned in by David and company. We get some quiet
acoustic numbers, some live tunes, David backed by the members
of the Grateful Dead and some numbers in his "big band" setting.
Horns, fiddles and the ever present guitar of the master of his
own style of Chicago by way of New Orleans blues. Ever the master
storyteller Bromberg never lets the music get in the way of the
tale, but neither does he hold back the tune for fear of trampling
the melody. A fine balancing act from clever musicans having fun.
The cover places Bromberg in the roll of the King (Kong that is)
about to be strafed by a flock of Faye Wray type heroines. Flip
it over and you've got a bit of the old peeping Kong and there
you have it. Like good wine and friendships, Davids music just
grows better with age.
