Notes:  As usual Brubeck is enamored with time signatures and the results of an ever changing bar line. The playing is crisp and clean as always. The entire side two consists of, in Dave's words, "A do it yourself concerto". Hearing his piano with orchestral backing and the grand dynamics that can be used in such a setting is a rare experience and has to be heard to be appreciated. Bright, energetic cover art is paired with a back cover deep in details and discourse.
