Notes:  Filled with backwoods charm and mountain hospitality this record set a new pace for rock as we new it at the time. With Bob Dylan's fingerprints here and there the Band brings a sense of close family and a common history. Honest folk and honest songs. The use of the organ against Robertson's guitar work anchored many of the tunes. A great place to start a "Best of the Band" collection. Dylan's work is on the front and a few timeless photos are within. The picture of the boys in the field could be a century old or it could be yesterday. a landmark record.
