Notes: Johnny's
voice sounds young and fresh on this record of songs and stories.
With the backing of the Carter Family he tell us about working
people, railroad men and common folk from every town. The down
and out fellow that's been laid off to those destined to earn
their living with their back and hands from an early age, that's
who we meet here. The extended version of John Henry has Johnny
doing both sides of the dialog in a five telling of the tale.
He fills the bill in the cover photo of a lean, serious looking
guy with a job to do. And according to Al Kooper, BS&T did
not get their name from this record. For the fan.
