For those among us who only know Judy from her later material this album is a revelation.  The music offered here is a collection of folk tales and stories from over the water told in her own voice.  Per the cover notes, "Behind the 'simplicity' of of folk songs can be hidden great complexity of emotion and tradition".  I couldn't have said it better myself.  The cover photo shows a confident woman alone; a visual equivalent of the music within.
