Music Productions Inc. brings us an early work by Mr. (later to
become Ms.) Carlos. A double record with the sides names for the
four seasons. Utilizing both the Moog Synthesizer and sounds from
nature the process would use up to 48 tracks at a time to get to
the manufactured countryside presented here. Birds, wolves, thunder
and rain all make an appearance and enhance the mood of the listener.
While Carlos may not be as well known as other synthesizer pioneers,
Robert Moog and Tomita come to mind, he was there at the beginning
with Mr. Moog. Walter's vision of what could be done with such
an instrument helped to mold the development of synthetic sound
recordings to this day. The cover art makes me ask the question, "What
would Roger Dean paint had he been of oriental descent?" Very
nice woodblock-like illustration and low key coloration to bring
us into the artists view of the natural world. Interesting record.
