Artist:  The Damned

Title:  New Rose

Date:  1977

Label:  Stiff Records   BUYIT6

Notes:  A import EP from England here on beautiful white vinyl. It was 1977 and the Damned were setting the standard with this one. A great group of songs including a version of Help that just reaches out and slaps you upside the head. The B side contains the junkies anthem, Sick of Being Sick. Always aggressive without losing the sense of the song. And some great uncredited B&W photography graces the cover. And there to lend a helping producers hand on a few cuts were Nick Lowe and Nick Mason. A great find on all counts.

Line Up

Brian James: guitar and vocals
Capt. Sensible: bass guitar and vocals
Rat Scabies: drums
Dave Vanian: vocals
