Notes: Duane's
second LP has the great tune Peter Gunn kicking off side one, but
the rest of the record is a mixed bag. His guitar is there in such
instrumental settings as pop tunes, blues and even a touch of jazz.
Quite a few are Eddy/Hazelwood originals. One must also realize
that the entire record was knocked out in a week or so, which wasn't
so strange back in the dawn of rock and roll. The cover shows a
young Duane and his hollow body Gretsch guitar, although a close
look at the front cover seems to show the F-holes are full of foam
or some such feedback reducer. Not his best LP, but still worth
adding to the collection. You can't go wrong with Duane, his "twangy" guitar
and the Rebels.
