Notes: A 2 LP set pressed on hefty vinyl and released in 2008 with a few bonus tracks not on the CD, will wonders never cease? Alejandro is back, fit and full of his old fire on this record. After we nearly lost him a few years back it's surprising to see him playing with such fire again. The last release (The Boxing Mirror), as much as I enjoy it, seems slow and more introspective in comparison. Here we can look back down the hallway and see Rank & File, The Nuns and various other stops along the way. And with the amount of talent they stuffed into the studio you just knew it would come out all right. Crisp cover photos set off by the white background look to be of a man at his peak. Let's hope there are more of these in Al's back pocket just waiting to be released.
