Notes: I
picked this up thinking it was a 12" EP since there were only
two songs listed, but it turns out to be a long player of typical
ethereal, surreal guitar work and tape effects from the masters
of the medium. A little slow in forming, side one eventually evolves
into a pleasant stroll from its soft repetitive roots. Side two
features the more widely known "Swastika Girls", but
remains in the same context as the previous cut. Synthesizers,
tape loops, and the ever present Les Paul to drive all the boxes
toward some coherent end. Or incoherent as the case may be. The
pair share credits for both cuts. For the cover setting you've
got your basic steel and mirrored glass room, a pack of cigarettes,
two men and a nudie deck of cards. Party on boys. The Crimson King
and his electronic cohort have made their statement, it's up to
the listener to assign a meaning.
