Notes: What a difference a year makes. Moving on from the sonic landscapes of the first record the fellers added a new record company and bunch of instruments and planted an alt-country seed into the minds of many. In addition to keyboard duties Chris Cacavas adds his guitar talents to this record as well resulting in a fuller, more defined sound. The band turns in a strong effort from all corners and the vocals have that whiney, plaintive quality that some consider annoying, but that I’m rather fond of in most cases. This is one of my "desert island" disks, but so are all of their other works as well. Very nice photo work on both sides of the covers. The rear picture with its acoustic guitars and armadillo foretell the alt-future to come. Love it.
