Notes: A
nice collection of tunes including a few original compositions.
Vince recorded these while he was doing an extended stint at San
Francisco's hungry i. A native of the city by the bay he learned
his trade amongst the likes of Art Tatum. Working as an intermission
player at the Blackhawk he honed his chops and prepared himself
for a life as an incredible musician. A great cover shot of the
boy in front of a local landmark. The back cover liner notes by
Grover Sales Jr. paint a very informative background picture,
but are a little light on the details concerning this session.
Still, a great record for the lovers of the ivories and ticklers
thereof.
