Notes: This tight trio was recorded at Nola Penthouse Studios, New York, Feb. 27 and 28, 1959. The sessions captured the band in various moods and tempos. At times the 15 piece string section may be a little distracting, but overall this record hits all the right notes. Ahmad is self assured in his style and he brings that feeling to the entire trio. This mono pressing sounds wonderful. The front cover photo captures the mood perfectly while the insightful liner notes by Dick Martin are a welcome addition.
