Kooper is an all around talent. Producer, player, writer, arranger,
singer, talent scout and general credit to any label he has worked
for over the years. This anthology gathers together some of Al's
varied work. Originals nestle against classic songs by the likes
of John Prine, The Band, Bob Dylan and Ray Charles to name a few.
Even under the guise of a cover tune Al's personality comes through.He
turns a song into a conversation and he brings a sense of honsety
to the words and the melody. To those who are familiar with his
work I'm singing to the choir. To those who have yet to really
give him a listen I say get on with it man, time a'wastin'. As
usual the photography by Jim Marshall captures both the mood and
spirit of this wonderful record.
