Notes: Originally labeled, "The Band that will Live Forever" this
record has gone on to become an icon in the progressive rock world.
Along with just a stellar cast of musicians the lyrics tell stories that
have a touch of the sixties feel, but seem to come from an older world.
Titled as an "Observation by King Crimson" the record ranges from the
brash "21st Century Schitzioid Man" to the gentle "I Talk to the Wind"
and all levels in between. Vocals by Greg (ELP, Atomic Rooster)
Lake are well within his range and well suited to the subject matter.
Fripp and various cohorts are still flying the King Crimson banner and
there is a wealth of musical material to wander through. The cover art
grabs the eye and compels you to further investigate this record. And
with good reason... |
