Notes: The
Mekons foray into the twang and gin soaked persona that is honky
tonk was a natural evolution such that it could not be prevented.
The ghosts of Hank Williams and other spirits of the barrooms and
bawdy houses came calling and the band stepped right up and grabbed
the torch and procedded to burn the place down. The record includes
the lyric sheet and calls out what i assume to be their literary
and artworld inspirations for each song. A few pictures here and
there along with the front cover's uncredited photo and we've got
a fine setting for a few pints and some music fit for a wooden
floor and insufficient lighting. Bartender, set us up another round
please...
