Notes: I
was never a huge Paul fan (more of a Lennon lad), but along with
his first solo album this is a classic record from the drop of
the needle onward. Soft, hard, fast slow, silly serious, they’re
all here. Beatle politics aside, Paul’s voice and musical
abilities are in stellar form here and the writing is strong. A
few loose jam bits and strum-alongs along with the much produced
Uncle Albert. Mostly it sounds like Paul was having fun with his
new musical freedom to do as he pleases without having to impress
his audience or justify his choices. Linda’s hand with the
photo’s (and the classic beetles buggery) and Paul’s
coloring complete the package.
