Notes: One of my favorite
albums by Ms. Mitchell is a bit more accessible than some of her other
works and has an extensive supporting cast. With the likes of disparate
elements such as Thomas Dolby, Billy Idol, Willie Nelson, Benjamin Orr,
Tom Petty and Wayne Shorter as her musical companions Joni manages to
come across as herself and tell she tells her stories as she always has.
A southwestern motif with serapes and snakes brings a bit of nature to
the table with this one. A unique talent and always recognizable right
off the bat let’s hope Joni continues to follow her own muse and sing
for us for many years to come. |
