Notes: Monk's
second outing for Columbia features both trio and quartet settings
and is a fine piece of work. Whether it's solos or the whole gang
rolling along the music flows freely. This is some of Monk's strongest
playing in my opinion. He seems to relish the material and never
falls into self reflection or quiet contemplation, it's full speed
ahead boys! The front cover's mirror image makes a nice abstract
image and the back cover offers up a profile of a master.
