Notes: Recorded
live at the 1981 Montreux Jazz Festival this was the first appearance
of the title cut; public or otherwise. Oscar had been working on
the unfinished suite between tours and sessions and chose this
setting to take it out for a walk. The two other members of the
trio shine as always. There's just something about Pederson's bass
lines that really grab you without being flashy or pretentious.
The entire show flows smoothly and Oscar's ivories are in fine
fettle this evening. Twenty years have elapsed since the recording
was captured and it still sounds fine today. Nice B&W cover
shot of a tired, but content Oscar. And as usual with the Pablo
releases this one comes in smashing
red vinyl.
