Notes:  Combining traditional music with a bit of the punk ethos, The Pogues grabbed the attention of all  who heard their particular brand of pub rock. Vocals built upon gravel, sweet whistle songs high above, and the freight train velocity of the melodies. A heady, frothy lot it is. Joe Strummer came along for the ride in the later years and the lads are still out their in various guises making merry. A very subdued group photo on the back cover belies the mayhem within. And as a bonus there's a beautiful duet with Kirsty MacColl on "Fairytale...". Ya gotta have this record, even if it's only brought out on St. Paddy's day.
