Notes: It
was 1979 and the forefront of the punk wave was upon us. I was
looking through the impot bins at a local record shop and saw the
Rickenbacker guitar on the cover and thought I'd found another
mod group like The Jam. Took the record home, played it and it
scared the shit out of me. "What the hell is this all about?" I
thought. Put that sucker away for nigh on 20 years and it ended
up back on the rotation pile next to the turntable. I've played
it regularly since then. With today's ears I hear severe political
punk with some interesting jazz highlights or leanings. And I like
it. The cover art is apt to give the young'uns a few nightmares
I'd recon. Not a hppy record by any means, but one that I've grown
to understand over time and it still appears relevant to me today.
