Notes: My
favorite Spirit record. This was the one that you listened to through
the best headphones you could find. The mix blends one song into
another providing the listener with the impression that it was
one long studio session. Great lyrics and a healthy dose of horns
behind the band and we're in for a fun ride. I know that at least
for me it was the first time I had really heard horns in a rock
situation. The song sequencing and dynamics are still breathtaking
in some spots and bear repeat listenings, even today, handily.
Sad, romantic, environmentally aware, happy and rockin'. Backwards
mixing, jazz and a love of melody with a taste of funk. Oh yeah,
it's all here folks. A psychedelic warping of the cover photos
brings us a little closer to the Doctor's dreams. Everyone
should have at least listened to this once in their lives.
