Notes: An
import of British origin this is a more mellow Stranglers coming
round for tea. The smooth recordings produced during these sessions
didn't add any more tunes to the touring set lists, but did give
the record company a few more radio friendly offerings. As ones
grows to expect from the guys from Guilford the musical expertise
exhibited is deft and clever. Hard to imagine the "punk" tag
being placed around the musical neck of songs such as The European
Female" or "Paradise". Or any cut from this record
actually. And all of this is boon and not a detriment to their
legacy. Able to wear many guises and wield an array of weapons
only serves to increase their reputation in the ears of the true
believers. The original line up here for your listening pleasure.
A very understated, embossed cover illustration as well.
