Notes: The
single from the latest (2004) record. On glorious red
vinyl. A fine record, leaning more toward their roots than
their later recordings. At their advanced age a silhouette
serves as their logo, familiar as it is to their long listening
fans. this is the British release acquired while on business in
London. Some great record shops in Soho there were. A grand excursion.
And as odd as it may seem to us a little long in the tooth and
having grown up alongside of the Stranglers the "B" side
is being used in a Vodaphone TV advert. And in a stranger place,
they've shown up playing Golden Brown for a US french fry advert.
Do the people signing off on these commercials even listen to the
bloody things before they're released. We'll conquer the world
with the Stranglers one commercial at a time.
