| Artist: Nancy Sinatra Title: Boots Date: 1966 Label: Reprise Records RS-6202 Photos and Art Direction: Ed Thrasher
Notes: The title track alone is among one of the most recognizable songs in the popular canon. Lee Hazelwood's "Boots" has one of those bass lines that grabs your ears and makes you sit up and take notice. Nancy's reading of it captures her spirit and makes it a statement of fact. The rest of the record has its moments as well. A very interesting take on Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" and a slowed down Stones tune are fun and the Beatles closer sums it all up. The cover photo shows Nancy relaxed like a cat; ready to spring at a moments notice. An independent woman on the back cover, but she never loses her allure or feminine attraction. This was the sixties all over the place. A nice record for the cocktail set.
