Artist: Doug Sahm and the Tex-Mex Trip Title: Groovers Paradise Date: 1974 Label: Warner Bros. Records BS2810 Art By: Kerry Fitzgerald Armidillos By: Jim Franklin
Notes: Sir Doug and the boys are out for a fine time with this Tex-Mex Trip. A nice collection of dougs original work and one lone cover thrown in (La Cacahueta). This is what fans of Doug look for in a record. Styles and chops are aligned to make anything going down sound fresh and easy. Considering the rhythm section its not unusual to hear a little of the "Creedence Clearwater" sound bleeding over into the mix. The main thing is that you can hear the fun oozing from the grooves. Doug has a way of making everything feel alright. The cover art has a hippie vibe (and I think that's Fat Freddie driving the bus if I'm not mistaken) that makes me want to call in sick to work and hop aboard myself. Thanks doug.
Line Up: Doug Sahm - Dos De Scorpiones: Guitar, Vocal, Piano, Banjo, Sexto - Dreamer With Gary Potterton - Steel
