Artist:  Terry Snyder and the All Stars

Title:  Persuasive Percussion Volume 2

Date:  1959

Label Command Records   RS 808SD

Produced and Directed by:  Enoch Light

Notes:  Another stereo session by the leader of the Light Brigade and his wide array of followers. Terry Snyder put together three different groups to record the tracks herein. There was a large orchestra with full reed, brass and rhythm sections and three percussionists. Next was a small combo consisting of a single sax, trumpet, trombone and a rhythm section. And lastly a group built around a four man percussion section as well as two guitars, accordion, bass and piano. The result of all of this instrumentation is a nice balance of musical selections and moods. And as usual with the Light products the liners notes are copious and very detailed. Each cut is explained such that you walk away understanding not only how the song was arranged, but what the technological intent was. And the cover art is your typical sparse, draftsman like graphic that tells the tale very well in a few horizontal bars and black dots. Another candidate for the bachelor pad hall of cool.
