Notes: This
was the record that brought the band their worldwide appeal. With
material like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Years Day" the record
couldn't help but be a hit. Intelligent vocals, spare, thoughtfully
placed guitar accents. Still a record to hold up for comparison with
other classics. This was before the band grew too large for small crowds
and fashion and a dance beat weren't part of the program. I believe that
I've read that the cover subject was a neighbor of Bono's and it was a
matter of the photographer just being in the right place to capture the
shots. Excellent album and a great cover. Can't ask for more than that
can ya? |
