The Album Cover Art Gallery

Artist:  The Ventures

Title:  Play Telstar

Date:  1962

Cover Design:  Studio Five

Notes:  According to the liner notes, this is the ninth album produced by the boys and their instrumentals have climbed into the Top 5 across this nation of ours.   Anyone familiar with any surf music at all should be able to pick out the opening strains of "Telstar" in a handful of notes.  And "Tequila" as well; though Pee Wee may take some of the credit for that.   While the cover art isn't flashy by any means, it still has that 60's graphic charm about it.  I love the guitars on the back cover.

Line Up:

Don Wilson: rhythm and lead guitar
Bob bogie: lead and bass guitar
Nokie Edwards: lead and bass guitar
Mel Taylor: drums
