| Artist: Sylvia Woods Title: The Harp of Brandiswhiere (A Suite for Celtic Harp) Date: 1982 Label: Tonmeister Records TNLP 1213 Cover Art By: Steve Duglas Art Direction By: Peter Green Back Cover Photo By: Ben Kitay
Notes: Tales inspired by the legendary harper and brought to life by Sylvia and her friends. A few of these folks play instruments that I've never heard of, but the music sounds comfortable and well worn. A bit of a Renaissance Faire déjà vu, but in a good sense. There's some bright and happy moments as well as a few slower, more mystical tunes and all are good. Apparently you can acquire the book form, beautifully illustrated by Steve Duglas which contains not only the story itself, but the written music as well. Interesting record from a small label.
Line Up: Sylvia Woods: Celtic harp, autoharp, Minstrel
harp, Marxophone, persuccion, Gwydion harp, xylophone, celeste, finger
cymbals
