Working apart from the Grateful Dead Jerry Garcia recorded many albums. Some were solo efforts while others were recorded with a mix of configurations he would revisit over the years. The albums below are a small example of his solo work. Some of the songs would not seem out of place on a Dead record while others show some of Garcia's other influences. And if you look at the cast of musicians that played on these sessions it seems like an extension of the Dead family helping out.
