Notes: These guys sound exactly like you would want a band with their name to sound. And since they race from that well stocked stable down at Estrus Records you know that they come well versed in the ways of the surf, garage and hot rod genres. And according to the liner notes all it took was hooking up their new friend Betsy Hammond (model M-3) with Leslie and the resulting sound had the boys channeling 35 years of soul that had been locked up inside the organ just waiting for the right group to come along and stoke her fires. And stoke they do. It's a rather enjoyable ride and as a special treat the cover art was based upon an old Sarah Vaughan album called "Sweet, Sultry and Swinging". I bought the CD and could not figure out why it looked so familiar. Months later I came across the Sarah album at a flea market for a buck. I couldn't wait to get home to compare the two covers. OK, I'm a freak, but I love stuff like this. Very sultry indeed.
Line Up: Dave Pilgrim: electric guitar
